Fellow enthusiasts.
I am about to pull the trigger on a set of Bora One's, to compliment my Shamals. While I recognise that these won't immediately turn me into Cav/Froome, I am hoping that they make a marginal difference when racing(and we all know how a marginal difference can make a difference), I'm look to you all to help me further justify the expense.
So then, I'll start us off:
1) They look cool
2) They will go on my 40th birthday steel frame
3) Did I mention they look cool?

How about, you'll look cool riding a bike with them?
Obviously only to a sub-set of the population, others won't notice, some will tut and rue your lack of judgement in not getting some hand built wheels, those in cars will still think you are in their way, one or two people will not see the Boras, but the new TV, holiday, washing machine, etc., they could have been, and someone on a Boardman will see it as a challenge to overtake you.
They do look nice though.0 -

I personally resent that remark0 -
How about: you don't want to be seen as someone who has the slightest care in the world for the environment?
Carbon is of course an environmental disaster: the fibre is made using tons of energy from thermoplastic fibres which also are man made from man made chemicals. Then at the end of its life cycle you cannot even recycle the composite... I can't think of a better example, if you want to point at a culprit for anthropomorphic climate change
Just saying... :twisted:left the forum March 20230 -

To be fair. I've got a boardman too
Ugo, that's a terrifying proposition, which I hadn't even considered.Insert bike here:0 -
as long as they're tubs you're allowed on grounds of coolness and good taste, plus they'll sound good too
but clinchers, no, just nomy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0 -

they would have to be tubs, although I am half considering tubeless.Insert bike here:0 -
