Ride for Hope?

Does anyone know anything about this? I've searched for it but can't find anything.
Last night when I was driving home* I passed a lot of cyclists wearing blue "Ride of/for Hope" jerseys, they were heading from Nottingham towards Derby in groups of around 20 or so. I think I passed about 4 or 5 such groups, mainly on the pavement or side of the road as if waiting for something, possibly each other; it looked a lot like the local chaingang assembling.
This morning my wife found them during her commute to work, she wasn't best pleased as she said they were causing mayhem. They certainly seem to have picked some odd times to be on the road.
Edit:- The only thing I've found that seems relevant was this facebook page....
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Ride-of-Hope/574103679277661
and from that I found this
http://www.barncancerfonden.se/engagera-dig/event/ride-of-hope-europe/
and it starts to make some sense
However, it seems odd that an organisation raising money is quite difficult to find, and doesn't court publicity.
* I wished them luck. Last night was the local "Drive like a prat night", I don't know what the hell had got into people (getting home for Wimboredom maybe?) , but it was dangerous to be on the road.

The older I get, the better I was.
