Brits in the TDF

At my count we have reached double figures for British riders in the TDF this year…10 at the last count…and Orica still needing to announce last spot, they might go for Adam Blythe and take it to the nose bleed inducing figure of 11!! I am looking forward to it…not totally convinced the BIG 4 are the actual BIG 4, but they are names in their own right and deserve their berths a favourites, but I just think they won't have it all their own way.
I think Van Garderen will put in a good show, and Talansky too, being honest it's about time another American got a podium spot. I generally have a little wager via Paddy Power, but the odds are so close/low I might just buy the bike parts I would splurge the winnings on and no need to wait 3 weeks!!
I fancy Cavendish to reassert himself as a sprint legend, hopefully, should be good to see him Kittel and Griepel early doors!! Bu gger it, I might even go over for the finish!!!

Van garderen and Talansky... nope. i'd say one of them in the top 6 or 7 but nowhere near the podium (if everyone stays fit and doesn't crash).0 -
This time last year we had a start in the UK and were moaning at the lack of British participants!0

Belgians, tuts.0

And the fewest U.S. riders in two decades ... only 3

While there are record 10 Brits, there are amazingly only 11 Belgians. That must be a post war low.
That doesn't sound right. You sure?0 -

It turns out it's not a record low. Last year there were only ten.Twitter: @RichN950 -

And also that Belgium hasn't produced any noteworthy stage racing talent since one Johan Bruyneel."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

That's no excuse for the French with their 41 riders... :roll:0
