I am thinking about buying a new commuter bike but don't really know what I should be looking at :?

I have been MTB'in for just over a year now & have started to commute to work daily which is around 5 miles but I do extend my journey at times to 11-12 miles.

My commute can consist of all road, all off road (nothing mental) or a mixture of both so looking to get an all round bike which will allow me to still mix up my routes but will also allow me to put in a good long distance ride once my fitness levels are better.

After reading several posts on here I see that Planet X seem to get mentioned quite a bit & I have seen these 2 on the website.

I just wanted peoples views on the 2 bikes or advice on other bikes that I can look at that will best suit my needs (Price range £500-£1000)

Indeed the London Road does get good reviews and you are wise to consider it for commuting as that was one of the functions it was designed for. Read the reviews in the Your Road Bikes sub forum if you have not already done so. viewtopic.php?f=40044&t=12998860
