Hi all , just brought a 1999 GT XCR 1000 , (looked good in the picture), I know its old but so am I , 48
any way would like to replace the headset (i can see the bearings) and forks but don't know what to buy .
also as you can tell very new to mtb , now for the funny bit get ready to full about laughing (i would)
I thought the back shock was spongy so tried to pump with tyre pump , and yes all the air went out and air seals blown . local bike shop say £70 rebuild oh well. any way I digress so does any body know about this bike and can help with spare part locations etc, all good help would be much appreciated .

Standard external headset, so you should be able to just service it.
Will take any 1 1/8th threadless fork.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
