hi, just wondering if it will cause any problems if i leave out the 13t cassette ring when installing extender as only the 13t /11t are separates, the others are riveted together .the instructions don't really mention which ring to take off but when googleing the subject they normally say remove the 17t . :?

I'd say you need a different cassette, you'll probably end up with a 11-15 gap which is massive and will be rubbish IMO0

Usually it's 17t or 15t.
I removed the 17t.
Try it if feels OK you've saved some cash!0 -
I also thought it was only the 15t or 17t you remove.
My Shimano SLX cassette wasn't compatable so ended up buying a new XT cassette which was only just over £30 .
I removed the 17t sprocket but found the gap to big between shifting so bought a 16t sprocket and swapped it for the 15t which is much smoother now.0
