brake lever adjustment

Hi guys,
a quick one hopefully,
My wife has recently bought her first road bike, A Pendleton initial.
She is complaining at the moment that she finds it hard to brake from the hoods because she she has little hands and cannot reach the brakes very well.
Does anybody know how to alter the reach to the brake lever.
The bike uses claris 8speed shifters. I have had a loo and there is nothing obvious. My other thoughts were to place more pads between the brake lever and the brake hood as this would have the same effect. In the past, maily on MTB it has been a really simple solution of turning a screw but as i said i cant see anything obvious.
Many thanks
George

The brake/STI lever reach is adjusted by the use of adjustment blocks, (shims)
Shimano code no.Y6VX98090 R.H. Adjustment Block 4° & 8°
Shimano code no.Y6VY98070 L.H. Adjustment Block 4° & 8°
Go back to the bike shop and ask them to fit the appropriate ones to suit your wife's requirements.0 -

thank you0 -
Not sure if the shims come with the bike but my bike with 105 had shims in the levers that I still haven't got round to removing.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0
