Err... Maybe you want to tell people what it is? If you're expecting a miracle that might be helpful. All the gear, no idea and loving the smell of jealousy in the morning.

5-7kg off the weight? My medium Bronson weighs 12.9kg. The only way I could hope to lose that much weight is by leaving the wheels and frame at home.

If it's an Orange 5 you could smooth down the welds.I don't do smileys.

New wheels, frame, tyres, forks, stem, bars, seatpost and clamp, saddle, crankset, cassette, rear mech, 1x conversion.
Anything specced on a 12+Kg bike will be too heavy for a 7Kg bike, which will cost you circa £4K to build, even more if starting with a heavier FS frame.
See top two links in my sig for some ideas!Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -

Impossible to advise without out knowing what bike it is but at that weight it must have very heavy frame and forks. Is it a full suspension bike which cost less than £300?
Loosing 5kg off any bike is likely to cost hundreds if your lucky. Minimum is going to be wheels and forks so wrong side of £500 already if buying new. Not a lot less used.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -

In my opinion, if your wanting light, it's not only the wrong bike but the wrong type of bike.0

Agreed, a downhill bike weighing 13Kg isn't a downhill bike. My Stumpjumper only just under this and it's a pretty slimline xc full sus.0

The fork on it (Rockshox Domain 302) weighs 2900g. That would be the first thing to replace, you could knock 800g off that - but as it is a 180mm travel fork you are limited with your options. You can pretty much only buy another Domain from Rockshox for that amount of travel (Without going for a Boxxer which would be even heavier) - not sure about Fox/Marzocchi though...
The wheels are Specialized own brand and so can probably be improved on quite a lot - but loosing 5Kg is going to be impossible imo...

It's a very heavy frame, you're never going to get a bighit down to 13kg and to be honest if you are looking for a bike that light either you shouldn't have bought a downhill bike or you should have spent about £5000 more on a carbon one with dual crown air forks, air shock and carbon wheels. 13kg is pretty much factory race bike weight for downhill bikes.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

You could definitely lose a fair bit of weight off the wheels, tyres and tubes on a Big Hit. An air shock instead of the coil would drop some weight too and the fork but there are few light 180mm forks so you are going to screw up the geometry and travel in the process.
Why do you want your Big Hit to be that light - its barely able to pedal any distance due to the geometry anyway.Closet jockey wheel pimp whore.0 -
It's a Specialized Big Hit 2 FSR so it's 18kg and I would need it to be a bit lighter like 12 or 13kg
I stick by my original suggestion - if you want to get 5kg lighter, you need a whole new bike. As a further point to consider, if you want to make it lighter because you're doing something other than Downhill, then you need a different type of bike anyway. The Big Hit is not really meant for anything else.Specialized Roubaix Elite 2015
