You can do enduro on any bike. I have had a few top three times on stages on my trail Bike. I'm not convinced a big enduro bike is best for UK enduro racing, the trails just aren't that gnarly.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

I regularly ride the trails used for the Quantock round of the UKGE which were actually made more tame fore the race and the used the more tame trails anyway. Apparently that's about the standard for UKGE trails, enduro bikes aren't needed for that sort of trail, a normal trail bike is better.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

The Quantocks round was steep but not that Gnar. Some trails can be alot rougher, but you could get away with 120mm yes. I do them on a hardtail.A Flock of Birds

They missed all the best trails at Greatwood, one of them started on a good trail then diverted off just before the fun bit.
There are so many very different bikes you could competitively race enduro on I would get some good test rides. People have won enduro races on everything from 130mm 29er carbon trail bikes to 180mm freeride bikes.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
Isn't 'Enduro' just marketing speak for 'Mountain Biking'?All the gear, no idea and loving the smell of jealousy in the morning.

Yep. It's just what most of have been doing for the last decade .Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Depends more on what sort of enduro you want to do. If it's purely for A to B as fast as possible then shorter travel is the way forwards for most UK venues. My Nomad is more 'Enduro' than my old Remedy but probably wouldn't be as quick in a timed scenario but is way more fun.Bird Aeris : Trek Remedy 9.9 29er : Trek Procaliber 9.8 SL0

I was doing all mountain TBF0 -
As far as I can tell, the only difference between all mountain and enduro is head gear. Enduro riders wear either open face helmet with goggles or full face with sunglasses.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350
