Front brake playing up. Shop taking a while to fix

Bought the Nukeproof. All ok apart from the front brake (avid Elixir) that always felt wrong. It got progressively worse then stopped working effectively. The shop asked for brake to sent back to them and they've had it for 4 weeks now, they did send a Formula C1 brake out as a temp measure.
Last email from shop they stated they have not heard back from Sram tech support as bleeding makes no difference.

I can ride but its just looks kinda crappy and I want matching levers.

Whats a fair time to wait for an answer / resolved / replaced brake?

So what was actually wrong (symptom, not root cause) with the brake?

How many times have they had the brake to fix, how long have they had the brake this time while you are on the Formula?

    Felt spongy at first.
Then lost fluid. No power and touching handlebars to stop
They have had them 4 weeks now and believe after bleeding them there no better. That something inside us wrong.

I'd keep the Formula and shut up about it.

My borderline OCD agrees with you, but I think I would still stick with the formula

    Buy a Formula rear.

Sounds like you got a good set of Elixirs there! Normally they are much worse. Buy a matching Formula. Ask the shop if they will do you a discount and forger the Elixir.

Leaking is never going to be fixed by just adding more fluid, just needs a new front brake, or a matching rear.
