Help! Rear Derailleur Cable guide / Ferrule size?
Hi all
Wonder if anyone can help me with this?
I am doing up an old Reynolds 531 bike and am at the last stage of fitting rear derailleur & cables. Got everything sorted and now at putting cables on. However, the cable outer from the barrel adjuster should go into a cable guide/router (not sure what its called - but its on the horizontal chainstay and is a little ring shape).
Problem is, the gear outer cable is too big to go in.
With ferrules on it definitely won't go in.
Is there some type of stepped ferrule i need?
I've attached two pictures and circled the bit i'm talking about to help!!
cheers
chris

Just a quick check - you've definitely got gear outer and not brake outer?
If so yes sounds like stepped ferrule or you could drill the hole a little wider if the cable guide is thick enough (but not all the way otherwise the ferrule would obviously fit all the way through the hole)0 -
Old school stepped ferrule. I've got a few knocking about if you have problems getting one, they always include them in Campag cablesets.
