I've decided its time to step up to a full Susser from my trusty Scott hardtail...

I'm looking at prices in the region of £1500 to £2000 and looking at 140/50mm of travel. Here is my current short list, options would be much appreciated. Also open to alternatives:

Specialized stumpy evo @ £1700 - http://www.leisurelakesbikes.com/p/17752/specialized-stumpjumper-fsr-comp-evo-29er-mountain-bike-2015-sale

Orange alpine 5 @ £2100 sale with Pike upgrade: http://www.orangebikes.co.uk/bikes/alpine-five-am

Rose granite 1 @ £1650 with Pike/XT/raceface: http://www.rosebikes.com/bike/rose-granite-chief-1-275-2015/aid:767308#24-19nmF-19nmH-174N7-174N9-174N8-174NA-1DnE6-1DnE4-1DnE8-1DnE5-1ECeq-12BZ5-12BZ6-1OQ9z-12BZ9-12BZA-17IZ2-12BZC-12BZD-12BZH-1B3MH-13QFK-13QFL-1BLAj-1BL0z-1BuRZ-174NB-174NC

Commencal am v3 @ £1450 (seemingly v cheap): http://www.commencal-store.co.uk/PBSCProduct.asp?ItmID=15147634

Radon slide 8.0 @ £1525: http://www.bike-discount.de/en/buy/radon-slide-27.5-8.0-238562/wg_id-7243

yt capra al1 @ £2000: http://www.yt-industries.com/en/products/bikes/enduro/9/capra-al-1?c=92

Canyon strive al 7.0 ex @ £2150: https://www.canyon.com/mountainbikes/bike.html?b=3560

As most are mail order obviously won't get to test so I'm heavily dependant on reviews.....gut feel is the commencal is great vfm, but the orange may not cost anymore over 2 years because of high resale.

What sort of riding, there are bikes there that are good for some riding and rubbish for others and vice-versa, I wouldn't even consider a Capra for the sort of riding the Spesh is best of and vice-versa.

Mainly riding Red and black trails with a little bit of off piste. I'm 6ft 4 and 18 stone, so need something fairly robust, I don't think short travel and lightweight would cope with me lol
