First Road Bike - Opinions?

Hi all,

Looking at getting into road cycling and have started looking at beginner bikes.. Don't really want to spend too much seeing as it's my first bike and not really sure what I'm looking for..

Someone recommended looking at last years models as a cheaper option and I have came across Raleigh Airlite 100 Tourney Limited Edition 2014 for £299 which has picked up a few good reviews online

Would this be a decent starter bike or could I get better for around that price?

I've read reviews on the Merlin and they seem even better, so think I'm going to go for this..

Everywhere says this is ideal for a beginner, do you agree?

Okay thanks a lot.

Everywhere I've read say its a great deal - Seeing it advertised as 'sub-£300' but it's actually £350 when I add it to my basket.

Could I get better for that price or should I go for it?

I'd still go for it. It was great when it came out for £300, still a good deal at £350
