Headset on Cannondale
I removed the bearings from a Cannondale Caad 8 headset top and bottom and when i took the forks out of the frame a very thin rubber washer / seal was attached to the forks, so where does this go back into when i start to put it all back together?

were these bearings in races? might be a seal that has come loose
otherwise, if the seal was on the forks then that implies it's where it goes in the 'stack', it seems less likely that it would drop though the other elements to reach that positionmy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0 -
Look at the picture in the link its the black washer to the right of the picture, http://www.cannondalespares.com/Cannondale-CAAD8--Synapse-Alloy--Slice--Road-SI-Headset--KB002/product_detail/3-40228https://www.instagram.com/seanmcgrathphotography/

might be an optional shim to go under the top cap if more clearance is needed between the cap and head tubemy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0

I dont think its a shim as it too soft, i think it might be a seal for the bottom bearings, between the crownrace and the bearings.https://www.instagram.com/seanmcgrathphotography/

+1 especially if it's rubber - looks too large to go on top of the top bearing which is the other place it might go0
