My first road bike was the cannondale caad 8 and it is a fantastic first bike.im still using it now. Cannondale make the best alloy frames.

Thanks for the advice but due to geting a bike through BTW scheme I am limited to where I can get one from. I can only use Halfords, Evans Cycles or Wiggle.0 -
Out of the bikes listed I would be going for the cannondale CAAD8/7 first then the Allez, the Allez has the slightly easier gears. I would get the CAAD 8 and with the money difference between the Allez I would put a more user friendly cassette on with a bigger bailout gear off 34 front to 30 rear if possible. The cannondale has the better frame and is worth upgrading in the future. The 9 speed chainsets are the better option against 8 speed. Good luck choosing and just make sure you get the right size for you.
the caad frame is superior than the allez i agree. just whack some aksiums on and you are good to go0
