Tidy Di2 Cockpit Up

Just tidied up the stem of my bike with this little mount, really simple and snaps into the existing stem removing the need for the silly rubber bands that Shimano provide to hold the junction box.

It's all Well and good you have done this but you've not stated what the product is so no one can do the same if they want to.
Different stems have differnt widths will this device fit multiple stems or just the Specialized one you have. Does this device come in different sizes or does the one you have fit all stems?
How much does it weight?
What does the top of the stem look like. Having a fin big of rubber visible from the top in the default setup is quite tidy, what does this look like?
You have it set quite close to the handlebars, I'd want to set it slightly further back so the di2 wires do not push against the brake cables. Is this possible?
Do you have a defore photo so we can see what it used to look like?
I think the ultimate way if tidying the stem would be for the function box to be internal like on the new Specialised bike or the current di2 battery.0 -

Fits the Specialized S-Works SL Stem, But I imagine others have the same bolt spacing

The same or less than the mount Shimano give you which is nothing, youd probably spit more out on a climb

Its tucked under you see nothing its the most discrete of discrete

If you have Di2 you will know that pushing against brake cables is not an issue at all

Google my friend, theres a million pics of a Di2 Junction box but I couldnt find one of this!

Brilliant idea, but how would you plug it in to charge/???0 -
This is probably a bit lighter, simpler and cheaper…!
I just used some double-side tape - the kind used by car people to fix their registration plates to the front and rear of cars. it has a kind of layer of foam in-between the sticky bits. Its been on the bike for about a year with no issueshttp://www.fachwen.org

Nice and simple Keith, great idea too. The mounts are all of £5 which is minimal for a aftermarket service part.0 -

No it was special order I have a spare if required0 -
Wait so was this just a thread to brag about how neat your cables are? You can't buy the product but you wanted us to know you have one, is that right?0

Nope it was to share the information that a piece of kit is available that removes the requirement for the rather poor elastic band that holds the Di2 Junction Box. You can buy them but there is no link to the item its a special order from Specialized.
There are many things in life I could brag about and tidy cables in none of them, thanks for your negative response and constructive contribution0 -

Until this reply you didn't once mention where you got it from other than it was special order. This thread is pointless.0 -

My thoughts also, easy to spot these type of threads, it's basically designed to get us to say "wow, cool! Where did you get that from". To make the OP feel important. See also the decal thread.
PS; The sticky pad label is cheaper, easier, smarter.0 -

Once again a negative, I fear the guys replying are the ones who need to feel important by belittling others with such comments0 -

Well do you care to tell us the purpose of this thread? It took you 5 posts to mention who made the mount, you still haven't told those who asked where you can have it specially ordered from. So I don't see much point to it. Maybe you wanted everyone to know you ran DI2? I don't know. You tell me.0 -
To contribute, exchange knowledge, its a general concept on forums! if I really need spell it out to you then I saw this mod on a bike in The Spesh store and made a few enquiries, nothing on the net about it so made a few calls and managed to source the parts to do it. It might be of interest to some, clearly it isnt to you as you just chip in with slights and negatives. Often when people are critical its to cover their own insecurities. Yep I run Di2, have done for years across all bikes, doesnt make me hard or any better than anyone else its a groupset that sells in thousands so I doubt Im alone, hardly bragging rights!
And on the subject of telling people who asked where I got it from you are right I did not mention where I just offered to send them one if they needed it! You may not recognise that its called forum spirit0 -

Ok I get you're being nice by offering to send one, but again why in the first post didn't you just say:
"I saw this mod on a bike in The Spesh store and made a few enquiries, nothing on the net about it so made a few calls and managed to source the parts to do it. It might be of interest to some"
Then the thread would have had a point. the first comment hinted at being told what/where the product was from. You just ignored it and answered every other question.
"To contribute, exchange knowledge, its a general concept on forums!"
Then why didn't you name/say where you got the product? If it's to exchange knowledge why did you withhold said knowledge? I deduce, again along with others, it was to make yourself feel important.0 -
I like the Canyon idea of putting a di2 recess in the stem.I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles0

True, Hopefully we will see the Front Junction box done away with in future releases as I am sure they could intergrate the function of the Junction box into the front mech or battery. Would be cleaner still to have 2 wires simply converge into one and disappear into the frame0 -
Never mind that bollox... drop your stem down and get one of those spacers above it...
Im fairly happy with that position and dont know why the need for a spacer above0 -
Plenty of unnecessary aggression here, people need to get out for a ride.....
I think the next step for Di2 will indeed be to do away with this junction box, and the EWW01 sensor/sender will be integrated into one of the shifters, removing the need for that too.0 -

I don't think they'll hide it in the shifter, one of the reasons it's out is easy access for mechanics etc. They'll come up with a neater was in the next incarnation.0 -
Two small zip-ties. Job done...0

As I posted a while back in my bike build for my BMC. You can get this from Raceware Direct for about £18 (I think they offer BC discount too). They can make it up in any of their colours and you can also specify the stem angle if you want, though the standard is 6.

OP
Cheers for posting as it's a neat idea. I've ran Di2 for nearly 3 years and it never occurred to me to tidy the visual aspect up!
It looks much better and a more evolved solution so congratulations on your thought process.
My neighbour had a pond with some expensive fish and a heron* kept taking the fish, This guy is a retired professor and he made a floating heron which sat floating on his pond. Of course the wind would blow and the fake heron would end up in the reeds wedged against the bank. This guy then made a fin and weighted the nose with a small anchor so when the wind blew the heron would face into wind and remain in place.
* its illegal to shoot a heron.“Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime. Teach a man to cycle and he will realize fishing is stupid and boring”

I misread that as 'it's illegal to shoot heroin'
Maybe I'm still thinking about the item on the radio this morning about the banker* snorting coke on the underground and ending up on Youtube.
* no way of knowing his occupation. He possibly doesn't have one now...0 -
blimey!
The story of Tim, my old neighbour was about how he approached and solved an ongoing problem.
As i seem to solve problems for a living, the size, nature and urgency are the variables, its interesting to see the perspective and thought process of others.“Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime. Teach a man to cycle and he will realize fishing is stupid and boring”
