cloudy, gloomy, cool and slightly damp, a typical uk midsummer day
when we got back from the algarve yesterday, at the airport i contemplated the drizzle and said we should just check into the hilton, book flights and go back there in the morning
see? i was right damnit! women never listen

A) they immediately regret carrying the packages for the person who professed their undying love for them the previous day, it suddenly hits them that it may not have been genuine when the police inform them that they are looking at a 25 stretch for heroin transportation.
they can't cope with the heat, lack of reality, they miss home comforts and regret the choice they made within 3-6 months.
C) they buy a fiat 500 and adopt a dozen cats
D) they make the best choice ever and live happily ever after (1:1,000,000)Living MY dream.0 -
Blighty ain't what it is cracked up to be.
You always feel like that after a holiday - that's the depressing trade off.
Flying into Arlanda Stockholm one winter at night time, snow on the ground with the street lights creating Halo's in the glistening white, I got to thinking just how pretty and scenic it was.
Contrast the return trip involved flying over the river of cars around the M25/M4 and through the cloud and drizzle into a sea of grey misery as we landed at Heathrow wondering why tf did I bother getting a return ticket...
Mid summer? Huh.

Good enough day for me. Got the fish pond sorted out, did a bit of work, drank coffee with a mate, helped Stropteen with her exam revision and then went for a run with said stroppy teen - who chills out more after exercising which is good. Also sorted it my kit for Friday's Welsh gravity fest - could do with some cool overcast whether for that as body armour plus heat gets a bit uncomfortable."I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." From here on in the days get shorter and summer! will be nought but a memory,
All we have to look forward to now is one bank holiday and "it's begining to look a lot like Christmas" being played in the supermarket from frickin' October.
Glad I'm off to the Dolomites in a fortnight, it'll give me some respite.Tail end Charlie

I blame government cutbacks. I seem to remember better weather up until the election and than after that...seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -

Ooof, big BBQ yesterday at ours, home made everything and burgers made from a local farmers cow. Bloody kids ate them all and I didn't get a look in!
Slight red wine induced headache though as I am now 38 years and one day oldAdvocate of disc brakes.0 -
Woke up. Had coffee. Bickered with a man about how he wasn't in my driveway and I knew he wasn't because I was. Went to work. Got wet and cold. Came home early. Drank coffee. Now chillin' wit da sprogs.
Not a bad so far really.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

Not a bad day. Now watching the sun set over the City from the Shard while tucking into free grog. The price was having to listen to Alastair Campbell bollock on about how Labour could have won the last election "I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered."
