disc breaks.....cable or hydraulic

Am looking to buy a Cannondale Synapsis 105 disc........but have seen there is a difference.......notably, cable and hydraulic.........what would be the next model up from the synapsis, or do they have a synapsis that has hydraulic........is hydraulic worth the difference? or would I be happy with the synapsis 105......I really fell in love with the red one......does Cannondale make a red one with hydraulic disc? thanks for the info. I have heard of many who get their bikes and than upgrade.......would rather get it from the factory rather than a retro.......too many retro horror stories
