Need a replacement chain, what brand?

I need a new chain. It's obviously somewhere they skimp on quality! Very lucky it didn't snap while I was out today.

Have Shimano front and rear mechs but Sram cassette and chainset.

Any preference to what I should replace it with?

I use Shimano for 10 speed and SRAM for 9 speed.

Thanks all. Maybe a stupid question, does it have to be a 9 speed? Any benefit to get a different speed as it's thinner or anything like that?

Noob question, but does it not matter about the number of rings you're running at the front? Just the number on the cassette?

Yes, assuming the rings more or less match the speed. The gap between 8,9 and 10 speed cogs gets smaller with the number of gears, although the overall width of the cassette remains the same. So chains get narrower on the outside, but the inside dimension is the same (AFAIK - I'M open to correction).
Anyway, a 9 speed chain will work fine with 10 speed rings, just not a 10 speed cassette.
