Next mayor of London

I received a ballot paper from Zac Goldsmith on whether he should run for mayor or not...
I have not voted for him (not that I could, but I wouldn't) and in principle hate everyone with a pseudo-aristocratic upbringing... Eton and all that crap...
that said, it is bias, I know... he might be a good politician
So, what should I do? Should I "endorse" him or not? Or in other words... is he a twxt?
Given the state fo the Labour party the tory candidate is likely to win...

Has he pledged to stand down as an MP if elected, I wouldn't support someone who's not fully committed to being London Mayor....like Boris.'Hello to Jason Isaacs'0

Not during the campaign... doesn't say anything for after, but I would assume soleft the forum March 20230 -
I think all London Mayors stood down from parliament on being elected in the past so I doubt anyone would get away with not doing so now. From from newt man through blonde mop they have all left parliament to do the job in London. The only thing is the terms of office in parliament and the Mayoral role do not coincide so blonde mop has chosen to become an MP before his Mayoral term has finished. Perhaps if there was a way to resign from that it would have been better, if there is then he should have made the choice as to where the best way to serve is.
BTW did newt man resign before his election to the Mayor role or did he resign afterwards or even stayed on as an MP while in the Mayoral position? I have never been too interested in London Town affairs with them being so distant to me. Although I might try and get into it at the next election for that position.0 -

If they are good enough to do a job then their background is irrelevant. Why the prejudice? People can't choose their parents.
I am quite happy about my prejudices, thank you... I think I'm going to keep them...

Kinda harms you in the sense that it makes you narrow minded? But hey, I'm not exactly in a position to judge...
Also I wouldn't assume any Tory candidate is favourite. Labour has 45 MPs in London to the Tories 27 so it doesn't reflect the rest of the country. Having said that, it will probably come down to personality over policy so, may the biggest clown win!Cannondale caad7 ultegra

On a tangent, Donald Trump is running for US president, if Boris was PM at the same time they could have weird hair competitions.
Trump would have the trump card in that one. He can swap his wig at will.
Say what you may about the produce of a private education, but at least it is more likely that they have the training to fill such a leadership role. Given the lack of ambition harboured in the state education system, it would be a very rare person to come through that route and be capable in such a position.

Well, apparently he has the approval of his constituents so it looks like he will try to run.0
