Other than the fact it will not rust, are there any advantages over say a 853 frame?

    No paint to scratch, so stays looking new.

    Not sure stainless is worth the extra over 853. I don't think rust is really a major worry- there are plenty of old steel bikes still going strong and if you look after it a steel frame will probably outlive you. I've got an 853 frame- 953 stainless wasn't available when I bought it but I wouldn't have gone stainless anyway since it would have been way over budget. I'm not sure how much lighter stainless is over 853 either. The money saved by going for 853 instead would get you some nice upgrades in other areas, or a decent cycling holiday, or you could fritter it away on booze and fags.
