Stuck spoke Mavic Ksyrium SL

Just bought a secondhand pair of Ksyrium Sls and rear drive side needs a spoke replacing. I have the new spoke, but the end of the old one is stuck in freehub assembly, tried everything to get it out but no luck as there is a disc partially covering the recess where the spoke sits. I tried removing the disc but not sure if it is removable.
I have removed freehub body but still can't get the damn thing out. I dont want to damage anything but cant see a way to do it other than drill it out.
Any help appreciated!

    Download the manual from Mavic website... they make very user friendly DIY manuals

    Yah, went through all the manuals but nothing helps, mine are older SSC SL's so have a retaining ring inbetween freehub body and slots where spoke nipples sit. Nothing in any of the manuals suggests this can be removed.

    generally retainer rings are removable... and they are just press fit in place
