Hello everyone
A few years ago i got a road bike on the cycle scheme which i knew a lot more about road bike frames ,groupsets ect so much easier to pick a decent bike with good components on it.
However i'm going to take another out for a mountain bike which will be used on trails around where i live(yorkshire) nothing too serious.
I have called into a couple of shops around where i live but it seems all they try to sell you is what they specialise in, for example a recent visit i was offered an orange clockwork S 27.5 as it was an orange dealer , they said it was the best bike around for the buck (£1049) which looked nice but on reading reviews it seems its just an ok frame with cheapish components paying for the name.
Also do i go 29er or 650b ? im 5ft 9 by the way if that helps .
So if anyone has any input on what hardtail bikes are decent around the £1000 mark i would be totally grateful.
kind regards carl

Thanks buddy nice to know, ribble add on £65 but I'm not sure all bike shops add on that fee, are the bikes above good value that's the question, if any more suggestions around the 1k mark I can shop around.
