I had trouble with my chain stretching so I removed a few links but now when cycling it’s slipping on the smaller sprockets in the cassette. I will order a new chain but could I need a new cassette too and if so how can I tell?

Pics of cassette please. Having to shorten the chain might suggest the cassette has also worn, no way to tell.
And the people bowed and prayed, to the neon god they made.

It's hard to tell but it does look quite worn.

Best way to tell is to measure the chain. 12 links should be 12". If it measures 1/16" more then a new chain should mesh okay. If it's 1/8" then you need a cassette too.
I'm left handed, if that matters.

That does look worn, is it the same age/mileage as the 2yrs plus chain you mentioned in your other posts? I would bite the bullet and buy a new cassette to go with your new chain, then keep on top of checking the new components regularly for wear.
