KMC chain
Just received my KMC 11 speed chain cut it to length put the power link on and i cannot get it to fully engage, do i need to get a pair of connector pliers for this job or am i doing something wrong. never had the problem with Connex power links.

Position the power link on the top between the cassette and chain ring. Push down / forward on the pedals whilst holidng firmly to prvent rear wheel moving.0

No need to hold the brake anyway - position link as suggested, and smack the pedal hard with your hand or if you're a bit weedy put the bike on the ground and stamp on the pedal. Pliera are only needed to remove the link.0

You dont even need pliars to remove a quick link, just pull the chain one extra link onto the big ring on the front so it points up __/\__ sort of like that, then simply tap the peak with something* and it will come apart easily.
* as in metal etc, an allen key, pump if road side etc. an energy gel probably wont do it...My winter bike is exactly the same as my summer bike,,, but dirty...0 -
