Hi Guys

My Pal has a MTB that has naff RST forks and we are doing a long ride and he wants lockout his suspension as we are doing a road ride. Is there away or a tool that will stop his suspension from working as they dont have lockout on them?

Thanks

If they are that naff then they will be locked out by virtue of being a bit crap anyway.

I've never been convinced by even locking out decent suspension anyway.

We just want to stop him bouncing around when hitting hills etc.....

There's always the Rubez method. I think it went something like filling them with oil.

You either fill the lowers with oil (which could add a kilo of weight) or seize them solid by pouting some very salty water under the seals so they corrode solid.
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

You can use a toe strap to cinch the forks down so that they are (mostly) compressed. You'd be amazed to know that someone actually makes a specific 'thing' for doing this too!
