Rockshox reverb

Morning All,
I am thinking of getting a Rockshox reverb for my Anthem X2.
My frame is a large one and the current seat @ about 120-140mm above the frame - I mean this is the length of the seatpost exposed.
Found the reverb in different sizes / drops etc.
Which one should I look at ?
They specify something like this:
Length: 420 mm
Diameter: 34,9 mm
Adjusting range: 100 mm
I want to be able to drop the seat all the way down to the frame.
Should I look @ 120-140mm dropper post (adjusting range)??
Thanks,
Chris

You won't be able to drop the seat that low, there's collars etc that will limit that. 100mm sounds best, and I expect you'll need 30.9 rather than 34.9 as most Giants are. Look at the giant dropper too, works well and I prefer that its cable not hydraulic0

Cheers Antm81,
Yes, I know about the collar etc. but I want to drop it as low as possible so something like 120mm maybe ??
Re: dia - it was just an example spec - I will need 30.9;
Yeah, was looking at giant dropper post but haven't seen it in the flesh...
Does it operate smoothly - going up/down ??

What is it, 120mm or 140mm? That's a big difference with regard to saddle height. A 125mm drop Reverd actually needs something like 195mm of exposed seatpost iirc (so a 100mm drop one needs 170mm), so you need to start measuring. There's earlier posts on here with a table of all the most common dropper posts and their measurements if you search.0

Giants own dropper is great (I have the Switch Contact SL) not as common as Rockshox nor it is hydraulic (cable) but it still does the job just fine
As long as its a MK2 Giant dropper. The MK1's seemed to suffer from water ingress causing the button on the piston to corrode and seize.0 -
Had no problem with either the Mk1 or mk2 giant dropper. There where issues with the mk1 caused by a hole near the saddle though, easily fixed with some tape or a puncture repair patch like I did.
The mk2 looks far better though being all black plus the fact it can be internally routed too.0 -

Table of lengths and measurements is in this thread - http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=20005&t=12971373
Very helpful little table but puts your 120-140mm in a little bit of trouble as all the 100mm drops seem to need more which is where a proper measurement is needed and be sure your saddle is at a proper full extended pedal position not a compromise position you might use on trails to be able to get off the saddle for short sections. With a dropper you no longer need that compromise position, so put the seat up to give you a full pedal stroke.Closet jockey wheel pimp whore.0 -
you need to measure from the seat rails to the top of the seat clamp.. that will give the best idea of what you can fit0
