poll poll poll
A bit harsh to call them evil but certainly f***ing useless
Can be very irritating when they don't know they are
No disrepesct to anyone working on a supermarket checkout but no more skills required to be an estate agent, Sign and a phoneRaleigh RX 2.0

They start out as ordinary people trying to make a living who very quickly turn into money grabbing trouble causing lyin' cheatin' parasitic scum who do nothing but sour a purchase that should be a pleasure.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

Definitely parasites.
Yep0 -
To be honest I've never had an issue with any, the first house went through OK and this one was a part exchange with a construction company who handled everything.
Even the rental property we bought a couple of years ago went through without any issues, the contact we had was always ready to help with whatever she could.
Perhaps the OP is just one of those awkward clients who gets estate agents backs up with stupid questions, perhaps.Advocate of disc brakes.0 -
The problem you will always have is that they answer to the coin.
Im sat in a hotel right now with a friend talking about him getting a new home and how hard it is as he wants to build a property on land but can't find any although there are many properties that have been built in Cheshire, local to him over the past few years.
The reality is you need one on side because to build yourself, the land you really want doesnt come onto the open market due to the deals done outside of the "scene"
You really should have a decent estate agent on your side if your thinking of selling/buying because mostly they will do whatever brings them the best return, often at your cost sadly.
Ive just sold my first property ever and its been a nightmare, I used someone I knew so imagine how much harder it would have been with an unknown.

I've deleted some posts, if you want to talk about emissions then exchange telephone numbers or PM's but please don't derail threads0

Only dealt once but that was really helpful occasion. I would say they are just trying to make a living like anyone else. That involves a competitive marketplace where you have to perform I reckon that is why they get a bad rep. Still which is worse? Lawyers, Estate Agents or Bankers?0
-
Do you get estate agents that deal especially in balconies - I've always aspired to a GB based balcony style property but have never managed to reach that pinnacle of home ownership.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

They are mainly like the type of football agent who does very little but insert themselves in the middle of the deal and then charge way too much. Strange how estate agents charge a % rather than a set price based on a list of the services you need, if you were cynical you would call it extorting money out of people for doing nothing and that is before you get into the descriptions the write.0

Yeah, that Veronese68 bloke isn't doing his job properly, I think you should sack him.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -
Yeah sack him, Think how efficient the whole forum would be if you had someone like First Attack or whatever his name is, as a mod. No chips on that mans shoulders - would be nothing but anarchy, fun and laughter around here. And a bit of commuting.
Almost the Rio carnival, but more fun.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

Obviously I didn't see these deleted posts but I agree that discussing emissions from estate agents is probably going too far even for this placemy isetta is a 300cc bike0 -
I've somehow got a good local one who doesn't have an in-house mortgage broker so has no interest in constantly trying to f**king sell me other services. Not that you get to choose when buying, just luck.
Dealing with Foxtons on the other hand. Can't deal with the plastic smiles and the 'isn't everything great' conversations. First conversation with an agent went.."Oh your a first time buyer, its such a great time to be a first time buyer what with all all the cheap credit". :roll:0 -
anybody who is out to shaft both sides has to be questioned. Doesn't make them bad people. I suppose if there everybody had the time to read up on buying/selling a house 101 we could do away with them.
As I don't care for keeping a garden I'd really like a good balcony in my next place0 -

Well that's me stuffed then.
Anyone got a balcony for sale?Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

I'd like to be an estate agent. I feel the job would suit my character and level of integrity to a T.

On a complete off-topic tangent, what do you think weighs more, a cubic metre of butter or a cubic metre of coal? I couldn't be arsed to start another thread or run a poll; I am a trainee Estate Agent after all.
*this actually happened to me. "Yeah, 1 bed units go for 600-650 and you're at the top end of that"0 -

So more of a crew than a posse? Definitely no where near a massif.
Anyhow, back to balconies (and it seems, the lack of the same said amongst us poor plebeian BB crew asopposed to the F'Tard singular)..........
And when did it become cool for people who work in shops and cafes to wear t shirts emblazoned with "crew" on the back instead of "staff"? Serving me a steak sandwich and a double espresso doesn't make you the frickin' Goldie Lookin' Chain you know ....Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

Funny, I didn't think that this was the 'Seemingly trivial things that annoy you' thread.
I need help in the helmet debate. It started as a comical thing, got shifted to Le Road Generale with the humourless squarepants brigade. I admittedly got serious and now I am being shot at. Worst of all, I lost the source of the info where I read about the hypothetical. It probably wouldn't matter anyway because it wasn't a dot org or a dot edu site  I really want to mash their spuds.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0
