All the riders in the break on Dauphine had them the other day and I was thinking "there has been no rain"
Put me out of my misery, thanks.0 -
worrying - if like most pro-level developments this then trickles down to amateur cycling. Imagine the OH being able to see you're at the cafe for an hour or even having a nice pint, rather than doing that really long route you claimed to be heading out to do for hours, rather than the DIY.....0

Ha ha... you say that! I have a mate whose wife has activated the tracking mechanism on his phone and follows him on her phone while he out riding. His battery died one day and by the time he got back she'd called half the family and was about to ring the police!0 -

I was told by mine that my wedding ring was GPS chipped? are they not all equipped like that then?

but why? but why? more gizmo's not necessary. They know where the bikes are anyway. Ban race radio. Back to basics.0

My impression from TV is that nobody has the first clue where all the riders are, and it usually takes a few minutes before everyone in the break is securely identified. The problem is worst in TT's, where you get three or four timechecks and are left to your imagination - that's where these gizmos might improve coverage. Whether teams should have access to that information (or be able to share it with riders via radio) is a separate matter.0
