On occasion when it's been exceptionally cold in the house I've been known to put the halogen ring on the hob for 10 minutes. It does help quite a bit although I expect expensive way of heating.
It's actually pretty cheap, all the heat goes into the room, no radiator or liquid to heat first! Might be expensive to fit an oven in every room though!www.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0 -

When a radiator is heating up, does all the heat not go into the room?
1 for 1 electricity is THE most expensive way to heat your house. (With possible exception of LPG).0 -
Remember what I said about purile little boys called Beavis and/or Butthead? I just read page 1. I rest my case.
OP, its better in a shed than leaving it outside, where it might dissolve.

Regarding carbon fibre and high temperatures. Ferrari Enzos have a very expensive carbon fibre broom handle as a bonnet prop, it is mounted in the engine bay directly above the exhaust. I suspect that gets pretty warm.0 -

No, because there is heat loss in the boiler itself - to the surroundings, and in the pipes from the boiler to the radiator. But it's all about cost, not really efficiency.0 -

I fancied a argument, I won't lie. I only paid for 5 minutes and got a good half hour.0 -

You do seem to have a thing for people living at their mother's house though. Is this because you have a long history of "uncles" staying at yours?Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

Sorry, there's been another complaint about this thread now so I'll lock it and let it die.
