Does everyone have it? I am leisure rider but also comment a few times a week. I'm just concerned if i crash i will loose my bike. Do people have specific bike insurance or do you have it through house etc? Any recommendations for insurers? Any to avoid due to bad service?
The more i read about people having frame replacements through insurance etc the more i feel i should get my act together.
Cheers

A lot of home insurance policies will have some sort of bike cover but they vary wildly (amount covered, covered just for loss when stolen or accidental damage cover to, how the bike needs to be secured, new for old cover etc.). Who's your home contents with already and what's the value of the bike?
If your current home contents insurance isn't good enough then it depends on the value of the bike whether you're better off switching to a different home contents provider or going with specialist insurance (there's various other threads recommending insurers). Personally I'm use M&S Home Contents insurance to cover my bikes, they're a lot pricier than they used to be a few years back but still offer good cover and supposedly a relatively hassle-free claim service (I haven't had to test it myself yet thankfully).0 -
If you are involved in a collision with another vehicle or pedestrian you may want to consider personal liability insurance and legal assistance. CTC or British Cycling.0
