Focus Frame Crack

I noticed a small hairline crack on my 2014 Foxus Izalco Ergoride. It is where the seatpost meets the toptube. The issue I have is I bought the bike in January 2015 in NSW, Australia and moved to London in February. Will Focus UK stand over the warranty claim if there is any and also can I really go to my local Focus dealer as it is not their issue as I didnt buy it there.
The crack itself is smooth on the surface but if you pick it with a fingernail and you can feel its definitely there. The annoying thing is the bike doesnt get enough use as it is and I cant see how I would have damaged it bar its the rough British country roads causing damage.
I have emailed Focus UK and will get in contact with my local dealer. Just annoying it happened on the weekend when they are all closed.

Is this just a crack in the clear coat?0

Can't speak for Focus but a friend had similar issues with a Cannondale frame (purchased in HK, then returned to UK some months later with work). Think he had to "stick at it" but I think it was his local 'dale dealer who took it on and came up trumps with Cannondale UK supplying a new frame eventually. He also bought a Cannondale crosser from the dealer though, which no doubt helped the relationship.Titus Silk Road Ti rigid 29er - Scott Solace 10 disc - Kinesis Crosslight Pro6 disc - Scott CR1 SL - Pinnacle Arkose X 650b - Pinnacle Arkose singlespeed - Specialized Singlecross...& an Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray 4 string...0

@Record; it doesnt feel like a crack in the clear coat. It feels like its deeper when I flick a fingernail over it. The dust that has set into it makes it look deeper than a clear coat crack. But that is to a very untrained eye. I hope it is only a clear coat issue and not a carbon issue as after only 6 months it would be very annoying.
@luv2ride; I read somewhere else that a chap had a crack on the frame in a different area and Focus replaced it no issue. I will be in touch with the distributor tomorrow and see what they say. I wish I could build up a relationship with my local dealer but I dont have the money for another toy and the two I have dont get near enough use as it stands sadly.0 -
I'd crack too if you moved me from Australia to London. It probably thought it would never see the wet..and we all know what carbon does in the wet :O0

Oddly enough I was talking to someone yesterday who owns a Focus Izalco. I admired it and he said it was the second frame, because the first had cracked in the top tube. It was just out of warranty and Focus declined to replace it, although they did offer him a replacement frame at a greatly reduced price. I presume that was slightly older than a 2014 frame, but it's a remarkable coincidence.
(I also own a Focus and it's been fantastic, but it's alu not carbon.)0
