Etape - how much climbing?

I'm used to Sportives overstating their vertical ascent figures (Etape Caledonia for example), but I've seen huge variation in the claimed figures for this years Etape Du Tour. Anyone shed some light on what the real figure might be?

Original figures were estimated at 4200m, one chap who rode the route recorded 5000m on Strava, and then on the Tour Tracker app that stage on the Tour is listed as having 6500m of climbing!

Great, thanks. Not sure how the info in the Cycling News Tour Tracker app can be off by over 50%? You'd imagine they get their stats from the Tour organisers.

No idea, 6000 would be a bit of a killer. I cycled the Mollard/Croix de Fer loop a couple of weeks back and it was indeed 2000m.
