New forks required for Dahon Mu Uno

Hi,
My fork failed on my Mu Uno
I have found a stockist with a direct replacement. It's £49 though, and I'm actually thinking that a steel fork might be less prone to failure.
I've seen some other Dahon forks which look like they are steel on Evans Cycles web shop for £15, but I can't tell which one might fit. Perhaps there is another fork somewhere that fits that is cheaper than £50?
The tube at the top is 120mm, and 125mm from the shoulder to the top. On the frame, is it the headstock? It's 100mm or so (I think 99mm, as I've seen this listed as a headstock dimension fpr Dahons.
Are there any bearings for forks? Should they be greased? Mine were quite dry. I couldn't tell if there were bearings that fell out.
Many thanks,
J

You need a fork for the same sized wheel with the same length steerer and same diameter.
It's called the headtube on a bike (headstock on a motorbike).
Yes the headset bearings should be greased if they are loose bearings (not if they are sealed cartridge bearings).Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
