What to wear instead of a cap?

This is genuine question so no silly answers!
Summer is here, kind of, and wearing a cap is getting uncomfortable on longer rides. If i don't wear a cap I find the sweat drips down into my glasses (sorry for the graphic picture!) which isn't ideal.
I won't wear a bandana as I'm not good enough to pull off the Il Pirata look so what other options are there?

Ahoy there me hearty.
I've recently bought a Castelli Summer Headband which seems to do a good job at keeping the sweat out. Before that, I tended to use my buff.New Malden to Epsom Downs

At risk of stirring up 'that' debate, are you wearing this under a helmet? If your helmet fits right you shouldn't be getting sweat dripping down really.0

Yep - wear that exact thing a lot and it works really well.
I like a cap, but sometimes it's just too hot for them and the headband works well and you look well 80s.0 -

Or you're not trying hard enough? :twisted:0 -
Thanks everyone...
I went to my LBS and bought a headband. They only had the Gore one but its light and fits neatly.
Reckon that'll do the trick!0 -

generic headband at the start of a ride,
If it gets too hot it'll pull down and under the chinstrap then over the helmet without removing the helmet first. Easy to do one handed while still pedalling. Never worn a cap under my helmet.0 -

In fairness those sleeveless cycling base layers are basically string vests.0 -

Depends on helmet design, my cheap spec commuter helmet had a full band with padding on the adjuster, my best helmet just had a band around back of head so there are gaps between the front padding for sweat to drip down.
That said even with the spec helmet and similar it's easier to wash a headband than the helmet padding.Bianchi Infinito CV
