I got taken out by tacks placed by "sabs" in the only road race last year where I was going particularly well. I wouldn't describe the sabs' actions as attempted murder (though watching your front tyre go flat through a high speed corner with most of the field coming past and swearing at you was not much fun!) but if I'd got hold of the f*ckers who put the tacks down then there most likely would have been murder, so red and thick were the "red mists" of competition!0 -
That wasn't redhill cc by any chance was it? I got two tacks in my tyre on the last lap there last year along a quite a few others i believe. If they find who did it they should be forced to pay for everyones new tubs, cost would soon add up!
Paying for damage is too good for them. Birching, or madatory "death by turbo intervals" should be the minimum punishment!
It was the North Yorks evening league. Sadly, I think the sabs are proliferating like Japanese knotweed. :evil:0 -

At least they put them through. I'm a postie and most of the leaflet delivery guys I see either leave them hanging out of the letterbox or tuck them into people's gates. The worst ones are the time locked flats, they just throw a bundle on the floor outside0 -

Neither date seems ideal for the pro race. Last year was probably one of the poorest fields for a .1 race on the UCI Calendar. No WT teams and only 1 of the weaker PC teams. Hopefully things will improve, but 22 May conflicts with California, Norway & World Ports Classic, while 12 June conflicts with Suisse, Koln & Limburg. Perhaps worth putting a tenner on ONE pro cycling.0 -
Tried to follow this race but struggled to find much information. Was I looking in the wrong place? Another very poor quality field with no World Tour or strong Pro-Conti teams.0

The race is just a side show to justify closing the roads and charging 12,000 riders £50 a time. It's already not popular due to the disruption it causes (but to be fair the communication was a million times better than last year and they made a couple of minor improvements that really helped with the disruption) so you can imagine what would happen if people found out the closures were only needed so that a bunch of amateurs could give their £5,000 toys an airing. They covered the event on the local news but didn't bother giving the race result or even showing the finish!0
