Buying used bike

Hey guys I'm looking to buy a bike. I'm quite the beginner, never bought a bike before. I want to do some bike trails as well some city biking. My budget is $250. I'm 5"10 male. What you think about this bike on eBay?

    It's a bicycle. Should be fine for urban use or very light trail/fireroad use.

    But I wouldn't. It's not a mountain bike. And a bit far away. Assume you are in the US?

    As CD says, it's not a mountain bike, it's an urban commute bike, if that is what you want it for (and it won't be as fast as a road or road biased hybrid) then at the right price it's a decent buy.
    Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
