Turbo advice.

Hi,
With the arrival of our first baby a week ago, I'm now contemplating purchasing a turbo trainer, as I just won't get the same time on the road that I'm used to.
If anyone has any advice or recommendations on a sub £100 turbo trainer, they'd be gratefully received.
I have of course been looking around and have come across a couple of Elite trainers in this price bracket. Volare and Crono. The Volare can be got with riser block for £100 from halfords. Is it a decent trainer for the price though? Is the Crono worth the extra?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Get a fluid trainer if you can over a magnetic. Quieter and more natural feeling.
There seems to be deals on the Elite Crono Hydromag at the moment - this is a fluid but with a magnetic system added too.

I have one but personally I would say I prefer the standard Crono Fluid. The hydromag works fine but is a little bit louder and I never use the variable resistance - just use the gears. But for that price, it's much much better than the magnetic only Volare and Crono0 -
I would have said the chrono is worth the little extra.
I have one and it's really easy to use- you don't have to faff with different resistance settings- just go up a gear/ pedal faster and the resistance increases- you don't need to attach a dial to your handlebars and you don't have to worry about the maximum resistance being too weedy (I've had that from a cheap turbo before).
Its a lot quieter than the regular magnetic ones I've used as well, which is a bonus.0 -
Thanks guys, really appreciate your responses.
I've just been looking further and I agree, I'll be going for a Elite Crono Hydro-Mag ElastoGel Trainer.
Just going to check if anyone has a second hand one for sale on here first.

I have similar Crono fluid - my only criticism is you are limited to in seat training as it is your weight that pushes the bike on to the roller. I would try and find a KK in the classifieds0

Much more interesting than a turbo in my opinion.
