Giro - explaining cycling

I went to the Giro this weekend with my parents, who aren't cycling fans.
Was tough trying to explain the sport when so many of the leading riders are riding with Panache. The current Giro GC is full of them. Maybe that's always been the case in recent years, but I felt it more keenly than usual this weekend - maybe because I was explaining things whereas I'm normally just enjoying the racing.
Feeling a bit disenchanted with it all :-(

Is the OP using Panache as a euphemism? If so, replacing 'with Panache' with 'on drugs' and the post makes sense. It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.0

I must confess to having enjoyed a certain amount of Panaché on our school French exchange, although it was many years ago.0
