Trek Lifetime Warranty - Any experience?

Hello. Has anyone had any experience claiming under Trek's Lifetime Warranty? I will have to do this this week, as when I was hosing down my bike after a ride, I noticed a crack in the drive side chain stay. I have never crashed this bike and it has only been used on paved roads/bike paths i.e. normal use. I've had it since August 2010 and I am the original owner, and done about 34,000km on it.

What is the process for this? Roughly how long do they take to authorise replacements, etc.?
