A cyclist and a black cab driver jump a red light.
Which one smacks into the side of a bus and makes the headlines and which one goes un-noticed?

Statistically, 6 out of 7 dwarves are not happy.

Regardless of the red light, how did he not stop in time? He could see the bus for ages, it wasn't going fast and he hits it about half way down.www.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0

It looked like a fixie although it did also look like he was freewheeling. If you look at the first few seconds, there's no sign of any brake levers though.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -
It is compulsive viewing...
He seems just destined to wallop the bus like he intended to whatever...
may be he's a crash test dummy.0 -
He's almost lucky he hits the side of the bus, if he doesn't he'd be hit by a car very shortly after.
I blame strava!www.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0 -

Joking aside, that's actually a very possible cause. It seems to turn some very unlikely looking heroes, into Raging Bull on a bike... :shock:0 -

“The cyclist was very lucky and only suffered a cut to one of his knuckles. Also in the cyclist’s defence his brake cable snapped and he couldn’t stop.”
He added: “Scariest thing that ever happened to me.”
In a comment to the YouTube video of the incident, which took place at the junction of Portland Street and Oxford Street, the cyclist said: “It was me. Thought I’d just get the lights, hence the speed.
“Realised it wasn’t happening, squeezed the front brake. Cable snapped. Not enough time to lose speed on back wheel in the wet. Not fun.”
He went on: “It’s a fixed back wheel, front brake for urgent braking, pushing back on the pedals gives you controlled but sadly slower braking with the back wheel, so what you see is me pushing back as hard as I can but it’s a crap bit of road surface and it was wet.”0 -
Thanks for that V68. I copy pasted it from Road CC and put it into the you tube comments to shut all the 'all cyclists are tw@ts' brigade up.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0
