Doing my first XC race at Bordon next weekend. Entered Open and hoping I am fit enough to not get dropped immediately!
But my question is how technical that course/typical Southern XC courses are? Would it be on a par with, say, the blue at Forest of Dean?
Cheers

Not ridden the FoD, but the courses vary - Wasing has quite a few fairly technical features, this year these included a gap jump and a non-rollable drop off. There are always chicken runs though if you don't fancy it, and they're well signed. Worth doing a practice lap.
We've not raced at Bordon for about 5 years, and courses have moved on a lot in that time, I'm not sure they'll have done much digging as it's effectively a 'new' venue, so I'd not expect anything vastly technical.
See you there, enjoy it!0 -
Cheers. Sounds ok. I assume these events are best done on a hardtail. Hoping the new one I have ordered arrives in time otherwise I will be slogging round on the full-suss (albeit its short travel).
I will definitely be doing a practice lap.

Not necessarily, an increasing number of people on FS these days (29ers dominate by far), Elite men winner at Wasing was certainly on FS (Epic).0
