Hi Guys,

Here is another 'what to get ' topic..

As the subject states i have upto 600 smackers to spend on a new mtb..

Have read loads of reviews and gone and sat on a few bikes...

Unfortunately i dont live in a place that has a great range of bikes to try..

Have looked at the Voodoo Bizango...Carrera Fury.... Saracen Mantra Pro....

All those get good write ups, but after talking with the guy in Halfords and having a little test session... i was not too impressed with the clunkiness of the voodoo fork, and as he stated that it might have been changed out for old parts for customers for replacement, didnt leave me convinced i would be getting new parts, and as i live a good distance away, dont want to be trekking back and forth for replacement bits... He also said the same about the Fury and leaking seals.....

Would prefer to have the 15mm through axle shaft for sturdyness....

So the advice i am needing is not so much on the best all round package, but the best frame that is future proof for upgrading... Happy to run the standard group sets until they wear out....

Thanks

Get the voodoo if you want a 29er, the carrera if you want 650b - you will get a new bike, get it mailed to you in a box. The Voodoo has a 15mm through axle, the forks are smooth and as they are air you will be able to get them adjusted to your weight. I personally prefer the shimano transmission of the voodoo to the Sram on the carrera but its more down to personal preference than anything else.
