my knowledge of DJ bikes is limited...
if a DJ bike has a 3 piece crankset can I fit a shimano hollowtec crank to it and a shimano BB?

Maybe. Maybe not.
It depends and yes and yes with a converter.
You are going to have to be a bit more specific."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

the problem is im not 100% on the frame yet
what are the BB standards generally used on DJ bikes, are they similar to MTB? Like I said my knowledge is very limited0 -

Post pics or more info. Threaded or......"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

okay I now know the frame is a 2013 saracen amplitude cx
I dont know what the BB size is on this0 -
Ok from the info on Saracens web page No CX but CR2 and CR3 and AL
One of them States a MID type BB which is a push fit bearing no cups. The others don't really say.
But at a guess not threaded."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

my bad it is a amplitude cr
okay so I'll work on the basis its a push fit, thanks for that!0 -
So working on a mid size BB, what does this mean for a crankset? will it need to be a mid specific one?0
-
Just swap out the bearings. Or buy another Mid crankset.
But what are you really trying to do? And take the thing to bits and see what it actually is."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Nope.
But again this is assuming that it is MID or Spanish or whatever.
MID."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Okay how can I check when I have the frame? or could you tell me if I posted a photo?0

A photo and some measurements would do it. If it is a mid bb you would be better off with bmx cranks (profile or the likes)0

Okay its a press fit and im fairly sure it is MID
the bearing in at the moment has the code ISK R12-2RS
So is this for a 19mm spindle?0
