Hi,
Will Shimano r451 brakes work with my 2300 brakes/ shifters? The description states must be used in conjunction with ST-4600, ST-4603, ST-5700, ST-5703, - ST-6700 or ST-7900 STIs for correct leverage ratio, so I'm guessing not but hoping so. What would happen if I fit them?
If not could anyione recommend some cheap dual pivot long drops?
Thanks for you help

I would guess that if you fitted them with your ST-2300, the brake levers will have excessive travel before the caliper starts to operate, which could mean that you would not be able to apply full braking power.

The BR-451 are listed as being compatible with the STI-4200 Claris levers, though I assume you are not looking to replace your 2300 controls. Tektro do long drop calipers, not used them so can't say if they will work with your levers.

Awesome, thanks for the advice, found some older shimano long drop brakes on ebay which hopefully will do the trick.
