Hi Guys,

Been floating about on the forum for a little while and thought i'd say Hi.

New to mountain biking and recently bought myself a hardtail to start myself off.

Its a Kona Blast 2015, my main intent was to try and get myself fit! First ride out surprised me on just how unfit I actually was!

Really enjoying it so far and learnt alot from creeping through various threads on here.

Not done much to it other than some new pedals, grips, front mudguard and a chain stay.

The original pedals were awful so replaced with a set of nukeproof neutron flat pedals and replaced the big soft kona grips with some ODI ruffians.

Anyway some pictures below:

The orange kind of distorts on the picture

I've nothing to really compare these pedals to other than the originals which came on the bike, which are worlds apart. I had read in the reviews that the pins had a tendency to go amiss so I took them all out and applied a little bit of loctite to each pin before fitting the pedals.

C-Guide Eco chain stay, probably entirely unnecessary for my level of riding but I liked the sound of it!

Cheers

David

  • Great Bike, love the colour..

I've also got recently (last week) a bike for basically the same reasons as yours, to get fit.
Although I realised how much I've missed riding a bike.. Have only gone for 3 rides so far but it made me re-experience the fun I used to have riding my bike when I was younger (I'm 34 yrs old).

Back on the bike do you recommend the Pedals, since I don't really like the once that came with my bike.

If it sounds and works like my old DCD then it's rubbish!
