Ok so been looking at getting a new Trail/AM bike later this year here's the front runners at the moment. Owners opinions welcome. Budget is around £1,800 tops. Prefer Deore or SLX gear if I can get it. Won't be stretching to anything with a RS Pike fork unless it is an absolute bargain. Seen plenty of reviews on the Vitus but keen to hear from owners of 2015 Canyon Spectral 6.0 or 2015 Norco Sight 7.1 Alloy. Thanks!

wow that's a very good price for a Sommet. I haven't ridden one but have tried a Canyon Strive and Lapierre Spicy and I think those are too much bike for me.I wouldn't be tackling big hits or steep techy downhill. I still like to do climbs and I found 160mm travel/slacker HA bikes a real drag on climbing...hence the Escarpe choice. I also don't want something too heavy. Thanks for this though. Just saw the Vitus rider Colin Ross on the top spec version of this bike yesterday ! Should've asked him for a ride.
UPDATE: I swear that link you posted just changed. Bike went from £1600 with a Pike to £1800 with a Marzocchi. Weird.2006 Specialized Hardrock Disc (rebuilt)

thanks, don't know this brand. Seems to be another German online only seller. Read some dodgy stuff about frame warranties but could just be internet trolls. Seem like good value. Do you own/ride one?2006 Specialized Hardrock Disc (rebuilt)

I agreeConstantly trying to upgrade my parts. It is a long road ahead as things are so expensive for little gain. n+1 is always the principle in my mind.0 -
the radon slide 27.5 8 1500euro surely that price is wrong as it a loads of bike for the money, any radon owners on the forum?
I've been looking at the Norco Sight 7.0 Alloy in evanscycles but your not gonna beat the german direct bike sellers for spec and price.0 -

I know what you mean as those prices seem to good to be true. Apparently Radon well established in Germany but yet to really break out beyond that...probably where Canyon were a few years ago as far as international rep goes. The Radons have amazing spec on them but that's not everything for me...I'm a sucker for a good looking bike and I don't really like the look of the 2015 models. Yep Norco's a bit pricey for what you get, but they do look superb. I love the look of the YT Capra too but it's too big travel for me and they seem to reserve the really fancy graphics for the high end models which is a shame as they could/should sell more lower spec/shorter travel trail bikes. Gonna wait until later this year when prices will hopefully drop.2006 Specialized Hardrock Disc (rebuilt)

List the price as sterling and it is even more appealing!!
The price is not wrong at all and yes I know someone who has a Radon HT - Black Sin 9.0 and it is superb. I am thinking of taking the plunge on the Black Sin 8.0 while the sterling rate is so good at the moment.
Definitely NOT too good to be true.Constantly trying to upgrade my parts. It is a long road ahead as things are so expensive for little gain. n+1 is always the principle in my mind.0 -
I would go for the Rose Granite Chief. Great ride, awesome value and UK support. http://www.rosebikes.com/bike/rose-gran ... plate=trueTransition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Now that is ridiculously cheap, pikes and full xt group set for less than £1800.
Not sure what rear shock I'd choose monarch rt3 or fox float ctd, plenty of options on other bits of the bike though.
Definitely One to consider, if you don't mind ordering and shipping over.0 -
