So, bought a selle Italia Kit Carbonio Flight from a reputable German online seller, it states on the rail Ø7mm, however it's actually 7mm wide by about 7.7mm height, and it won't fit my carbon Ritchey Superlogic.
Do I need to get the 7x9.6mm clamp kit?

The rails on that saddle are actually 7x9 (http://www.selleitalia.com/en/prodotti/road/pagina_flite/) so you'll need the 7x9.6mm clamp kit.

I've physically measured using a pair of calipers these and they as stated, there is a 'tube A' which is supposed to be 7mm (from the early 2013/14 initial production) so does the extra height which makes them slightly oval size indicate a fault in manufacturing?

Unlikely, probably just a different measuring technique. Found this so order accordingly...
Available in Fizik standard (7x9,6mm), Selle Italia standard (newer Selle Italia Saddles are Fizik standard!) (8x8,5mm) and Ritchey Standard (7x7mm).
