First Time Cycling to School

I took my son to school on Friday. Instead of the trailer, he cycled

He cycled all the 1.5 miles on his own, on his little Cnoc 14. Obviously I was with him, for those in doubt.

When we arrived and he told his teachers, they were amazed. First they asked me was it with a trail gator type thing. To which I proudly said no. Then they asked if he had stabilisers. To which I even more proudly said no!

Forgot to add, he is three and a half.

A very proud father.

Well done, wish my youngest could bike to school at 9 without an escort but school run parents are lethal around my neck of the woods.
Too many bikes according to Mrs O.
  • Awesome, glad to hear that!! Happy family cycling :)
  • My son is 7 years old and cycles to school regularly on his own now as well. He cycles on the pavement. But as the streets are very busy it's not enough for me to cycle on the street beside him because if he would fall into the direction of the street it would be hard to help immediately. For that reason I run beside him on the pavement between street and him so that I could easily hold him if he would fall or steer into the wrong direction. The only downside of this method is after each school run I need to take a shower :D
