Ultegra 6800 front mech rubbing

I am having some issues with the front derailleur on my Vincenza with the chain rubbing on the big/small combination. It has been like this since the beginning but I have only had time today to try and adjust it out. I had to completely reset the derailleur as it had been incorrectly set up according to the shimano instructions but still there is rub on the big/small (50/11) with the chain. It can't be adjusted out with the high Limit screw any further. The rub appears in the couple of gears before the 11 but it is otherwise ok in the middle/lower of the cassette and in the small ring up front. I think it is an issue with the cable tension but without a barrel adjuster I cannot get rid of it.

Any ideas how to sort it?

If there is no adjuster on the frame stop and no inline adjuster has been fitted you will need to release the cable clamp and pull a little more cable through to adjust the tension...a fiddly job!

I pulled it through as far as I could with some pliers and elbow grease!

When I'm having issues with that I over tighten the lower limit screw and then pull the cable through to set it, then back off the lower limit screw again which gives extra tension, seems to do the trick.

It's easier to do if you get the chain on to the big ring, then set the shifter to the small ring without actually turning the cranks.

Will give it a go, thanks!

The secret to 11sp Shimano front derailleur adjustment is as has been said.
You need to run as much cable tension as you can.
That's the reason that these derailleurs run a nylon rub strip on the inside of the cage.
They should always be installed with an inline adjuster or you will have to resort to tomfoolery until the cable settles in.
Simply pulling the cable tight with the lower limit adjusted correctly is not enough tension.

I may fiddle with the 105 on my Italia using the advice above.
